I'm Lacey Middlestead

Writer. Storyteller. Adventurer.

I’ve been a freelance writer for over 15 years, since graduating with an English Writing degree from Carroll College in Helena, Montana. For me, writing isn’t about the paycheck. I do it because it fulfills me…because when I’m writing I don’t feel like I should be doing anything else. The words I write aren’t just SEO phrases on websites and smudged articles in the newspaper. They are the air that gives life to the unique stories of individuals trying to find their place in the world…just like me.

I’ve written for local newspapers like the Helena Independent Record, Queen City News, and Helena Vigilante as well as regional magazines like Distinctly Montana Magazine, Montana Magazine, and SnoWest. I’m also an experienced website copywriter who can craft SEO content that will boost site traffic and help you better tell your story, define your brand, and market your business.
I’m committed to building relationships with each of my clients and working alongside you to create content that best represents you and that we can both be proud of.

I have long held a passion for the written word and nothing brings me greater joy than bringing the stories of others to life on the page.

Born and raised under the Big Sky of Montana, I’ve long been an outdoor enthusiast and adventure seeker. When I’m not wrestling the blank page, I can normally be found tearing up the snowy mountains on my snowmobile or skis, practicing my wrist shots in hockey or cuts on my wake surfboard, or kicking up dust on my dirt bike.

I am lucky to be married to my best friend—a man who has always loved me just as I am. He supports and encourages me, balances me, and is there to hold my hand through each new adventure that comes our way.

I’m blessed to have a gorgeous daughter named Amelia Jane, whose sass, curiosity, and contagious laughter give new meaning and purpose to my life daily. I'm also the fur mamma to a mischievous chocolate lab named Wallace Cornelius. His wiggle butt, insatiable love for peanut butter and frozen blueberries, and staunch poker face gives me a reason to smile every single day.

I am always on the lookout for the next great adventure, story, and writing opportunity. And behind each sunrise, encounter, and conversation, lies countless opportunities for all of those things.
